Step 1 - Introductory Call

A 15-minute call provides an opportunity for us to make sure your situation matches my expertise. If my team is not the best fit for you, I will introduce you to one of the many great advisors I know. Schedule an introductory call.

Step 2 - Exploratory Meeting

This complimentary 60-minute meeting (in-person or via Zoom) is designed for us to discuss your goals, questions, and concerns. I use this discussion to guide us in creating your financial plan. I will also outline in detail what a relationship with our team would look like and our fees.

At the end of this meeting, I will ask you to sleep on it before making a decision about whether you want my help.

Step 3 - Sleep On It

Having been in business for more than 30 years, we are in no rush for you to make any decision. Before deciding to work with us, you should answer β€œyes” to 3 questions:

  1. Do I understand and agree with their financial planning and investment philosophy?

  2. Will the value I receive outweigh the cost of their fees?

  3. Do I trust Reston Wealth Management?

I will follow up in one week to discuss how you would like to move forward. If you would like to work together, we will send you a list of documents to gather so we can begin our analysis.

Step 4 - Evaluate

I will use the data provided along with our discussion as the framework for creating your assessment that will answer 4 key questions:

  1. Are you on track for retirement and other goals?

  2. How can your investments be optimized?

  3. Are you overpaying on taxes?

  4. Are there any key threats to your financial goals?

Step 5 - Strategy Meeting

During this meeting, I will review with you, in plain English, your financial assessment, which will show you exactly what my recommendations are. You can expect to receive an easy-to-understand financial plan, an investment analysis, and a tax snapshot.

At the end of this meeting, I will outline the next steps to implement our recommendations.

Step 6 - Launch Meeting

During this meeting, I answer any questions that you have and begin the process of implementing the first steps of the plan, often including:

  1. Further discussion around goals and objectives

  2. Opening new investment accounts

  3. Outlining the first year of our relationship by prioritizing your most pressing issues

Step 7 - First Year

During the first year of engagement, we typically have four meetings to cover each of the core areas of financial planning:

  1. Financial Planning and Projections

  2. Cash Flow and Taxes

  3. Investments and Real Estate

  4. Estate and Insurance
